Develop strategies to help students suffering from anxiety, including tamariki with autism.
Anxiety is a normal emotion, and all children experience it, however it can impact learning and the ability to participate in school life. Teachers can play an important role in helping students with anxiety by making them feel safe and supported.
In these online workshops, learn the signs and symptoms of anxiety, how it may present in students with autism, calming strategies, types of treatment and where to go for help.
Hosted by experienced facilitator Cat Levine, with input from Anxiety New Zealand and Autism New Zealand, the workshops are designed to be convenient, informative and interactive.
Workshops will be held from 3.30-5pm on weekdays.
Workshop 1 is for any teachers who want to know more about anxiety and what we can do to support our tamariki and rangatahi.
Workshop 2 will offer more detail for SENCOs, LSCs, teacher aides and teachers who have participated in the first workshop.
Cost: $85 pp or $80 for groups of 10 or more (plus GST).
Please note registration fees are required to be paid prior to the workshop. Your Zoom link will not be sent out until payment is received.
