Nurturing Healthy Minds - Anxiety - Workshop 1

Develop strategies to help students suffering from anxiety, including tamariki with autism.

Description

Anxiety is a normal emotion, and all tamariki experience it, however it can impact learning and the ability to participate in school life. Teachers and learning support staff can play an important role in helping learners with anxiety by making them feel safe and supported.

In these online workshops, learn the signs and symptoms of anxiety, how it may present in tamariki with autism, calming strategies, types of treatment and where to go for help.

Hosted by experienced facilitator Cat Levine, with input from Anxiety New Zealand and Autism New Zealand, these workshops are designed for teachers and learning support staff across the education system - from early childhood through to secondary schools.

Workshops are held on weekdays from 3.30-5pm.

Workshop 1 is for teachers and learning support staff who want to know more about anxiety and what we can do to support our tamariki and rangatahi.

Workshop 2 builds on Workshop 1, providing a deep dive into anxiety and the stress response, and further support strategies to add to your kete.

Cost: $85 pp or $80 pp for groups of 10 or more (plus GST). Payment can be made online via credit card or via invoice direct to your school.

Please note registration fees must be paid prior to the workshop. If this is not possible, please contact us to make alternative arrangements. Your Zoom link will be sent out when payment is received.
